Cocos Island is known as the "Island of the Sharks" and is famous for its huge schools. Diving in Cocos is characterized by the variety and quantity of marine pelagic species, such as hammerhead sharks, silver tip, tiger, silky, blacktip sharks and whale sharks, along with the great aggregations of rays, snappers and tuna, as it is an oceanic island located 550 Kms. from the Pacific coast. Great filterers frequent the island, as the giant mantas and the migrating humpback whales.
